Yes, more research. I'm a life long MD medical researcher and I was shocked when I discovered what is reference 3 in my article. Very solid epidemiological work showing that standing is even worse for us than sitting! Walking and squatting are what's best for us physiologically, but it isn't easy to accommodate these requirements in an office cubical. My workaround is active sitting. It requires some acclimatization, but for me it really works.
